VINCE STAPLES

Apparently, Vince Staples’ 2021 was just a warm-up. In July 2021, Staples dropped an intimate self-titled album which welcomed fans to his Long Beach hometown and debuted as the #1 Current Rap Album and landed at #21 on the Billboard 200 Chart week of release. Entirely produced by Kenny Beats, the LP earned critical acclaim, with NPR Music calling it “powerful” and Rolling Stone praising Vince for his “brilliantly concise song writing” and “knack for combining brevity and sly wordplay.”
The momentum from those creative Staples sessions produced his most recent album: Ramona Park Broke My Heart, which debuted worldwide at #1 on Spotify and #5 on Apple Music. Rolling Stone praised RPBMH for being “richly detailed, musically sharp, and vocally casual.” Long Beach’s Ramona Park neighbourhood is dear to Vince’s heart, which is why he uses it in many of his lyrics and even his album title. “It’s symbolic of home,” Staples says of why he dedicated this album to it. His lead single, “Magic”, debuted at #50 on the Billboard R&B/Hiphop chart with over 50 million global streams. To date, the album has garnered over 1.3 billon streams on Spotify and 505 million streams on Apple Music. After touring with Tyler the Creator across North America this past Spring, Staples partnered with Amazon to host a live-streamed special event on August 23 in LA titled A Walk Through Ramona Park which gave fans across the globe a window into his creative process behind his iconic discography.
Vince is currently in production for his upcoming scripted series with Netflix titled The Vince Staples Show in which he will star and produce. He also will next star in Showtime’s upcoming series The Wood and will appear in the highly anticipated film reboot of White Men Can’t Jump. This past July, Vince released his first graphic novel, Limbo Beach with Z2 Comics, which follows the newest member of the Wunderlosts -- a band of misfit teenage raiders -- on a journey to discover the truth about the park—and himself—in a tale that is equal parts Lord of the Flies and The Warriors.
In 2022 alone, Vince has had major campaigns with the NBA, CALVIN KLEIN, UNION LA and BEATS –proving his social currency as a brand ambassador. Vince also recently partnered with Acura in their “Your Turn” campaign putting Vince behind the wheel of their New-Gen Integra.
