Blinky Bill’s music is a mix of futuristic African beats meets, Funk, hip-hop, Pop, electronica and hint of jazz.
Blinky Bill released his first solo album, ‘Everyone’s Just Winging It And Other Fly Tales’, at the end of 2018. The title expresses the idea that human beings float through life doing their best – sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing – and that our existences have their share of upsets. The album features some excellent, spontaneous, productive collaborations, especially with Sampa the Great, Petite Noir and Nneka. Other guests are personalities from the Kenyan scene, such as Muthoni Drummer Queen or Sage.
No stranger to the music scene, Bill was the lead vocalist/song-writer in Kenya’s most ground breaking alternate act Just A Band. The Kenyan Musician/Producer has participated at: SXSW (2012 & 2015), One Beat Music Program (2013), Ted Global in Brazil (2014), Red Bull Music Academy Tokyo (2014), Paleo Festival in Switzerland (2016), Design Indaba in Cape Town (2017), Mama Festival in France (2018) amongst others.
