feature: writer/filmmaker justin simien’s ‘dear white people’ picked up for netflix tv series.
Good news, folks, Justin Simien’s film ‘Dear White People’ has been picked up by Netflix for 10, 30-minute episodes. The show, like the film, will follow a diverse group of students navigating the so-called “post-racial” landscape of a predominately white Ivy League university. House of Lies and Weeds producer Devon Shepard, and Dear White People executive producer Stephanie Allain Bray and producer Julia Lebedev are slated as executive producers of the spin-off. It’s unclear if the film’s core cast members (Tessa Thompson, Tyler James Williams, Teyonah Parris, and Dennis Haysbert) will return to star in the show, but here’s hoping!
