feature: fashionable demand showcase the creative influencers of milwaukee with ongoing portrait series, ‘mke spirit’

September 15, 2015

Check out the latest photo series from Milwaukee-based styling collective Fashionable Demand – entitled, ‘MKE Spirit’. As stated by the collective’s creative director Michael Ja’Ameer, the ongoing portrait series (lensed by photographer Jamie Robarge) is a showcase of “creative influencers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin; who are making an impact in the creative arts community in all different aspects and all within a caliber of excellence”. He adds, “The purpose of this visual series is to spotlight these inspirational artists who are dedicated to their craft. As a collective, Fashionable Demand has seen the passion, the determination and the drive behind these growing artists. We feel that it’s appropriate and important to capture the essence of these featured Milwaukeean artists from all backgrounds and walks of life in this visual portrait series…hence the title ‘MKE SPIRIT’!” The first face of the series is stylist Fanny E. Muller. Explore below.

“I am inspired by people who are so deeply in love with what they do, their drive, their dedication, their stories, their scars, the way they fight for what they believe in, the way they perform what they love, the way their eyes light up when they talk about their passion. My biggest motivation I would say is my family, especially my parents. They worked so hard and made sure I always have clothes on my back, I aspire to make them proud every day of my life. Art to me is a way to express yourself by allowing your imagination to run wildly. It is a great escape to an imaginary world. A better world, a safer world, a world we fit in, where we are understood, and loved.

I like to think of myself as a creative, I  do anything I put my mind to but right now I am focusing more my energy on being the Best Fashion Stylist I can be. I love creating looks, telling stories through clothing, I find it fascinating how one can transform a person, and make them feel like they can achieve anything by boosting their confidence with the right clothes! That is what I do: I transform, boost confidence, and empower people.

My mission is to help as many people as I can look and feel their best everyday of their life. Lift, transform, and empower them by using the gift God has blessed me with.”  – Fanny E. Muller
