We’ve designed a safe space for you, our community to celebrate and inspire, cry and shout, and to heal and motivate one another. All across the world we will connect in sameness and in difference to discover the joy in our BlacknessYou can expect music and art, with the opportunity to circulate the Black dollar and support Black-owned businesses, as well as many in-depth conversations. Planet AFROPUNK will create new ways to experience the next generation of Black creativity, music and culture through the support of this year’s many partners, who will power AFROPUNK’s iconic digital destinations, alongside BOSE, who will be fuelling the music for AFROPUNK’s festival on the Global Stage.
Ideaville, powered by Target: Ideaville powered by Target, Planet AFROPUNK most anticipated destinations that empower people through ideas, connections and solutions. Justice and Black Joy will be the theme across the entire destinations that ties into Target’s strategy of self-preservation and sustenance. With keynote speakers, AFROPUNK Solution Sessions and luminary interviews, Ideaville will spotlight Black voices and stories, while creating a safe space for all of AFROPUNK’s communities, featuring a Black Queer Town hall and community soap box.
Bites&Beats Delivered By Grubhub: Bites&Beats is AFROPUNK’s main staple for people looking for a top tier culinary experience served in a bowl of Black wholesomeness. This year, delivered by Grubhub, Bites&Beats returns as a virtual destination which will be offering online festival goers access to Black-owned restaurants identified by Dine Black in North America, which will serve u-up curated menus for this year’s festival.
Art & Times with Esprit: Bites Art&Times is a celebration and recognition of young creatives who have carved a path for themselves. This year Art&Times with Esprit has hand-picked a selection of South African artists to showcase their unusual and original compositions that reflect their true form of self expression. Art&Times with Esprit promises to be an immersive virtual art experience for festival goers.
Hair & Beauty Village with Maui Moisture: Hair & Beauty Village will explore all of the facets of Black hair through the eyes of creators, innovators, visionaries and artists to manifest conversations, creativity and community. Hair plays a central role in identity, self-concept and political consciousness of Black people, and Maui Moisture will powering important conversation on-platform for festival attendees.
Activism Row: Activism Row will generate discussions on criminal justice reform, the failings of the criminal legal system and the systemic racism and segregation plaguing the public school system. Ben & Jerry’s will highlight organizations working to eliminate injustices in Black communities nationwide. Non-profit organization AARP will also be celebrating Black roots and activism through a video tribute and encouraging voter engagement.
Spinthrift Market: This year will feature a curated selection of black owned vendors from around the world. Guests will discover makers and creators across many different product areas including beauty, fashion, wellness, gifts, services and more.
