dope black voice actors who brought your childhood to life: bumper robinson

If the next Black voice actor looks familiar, that’s because…he is! Bumper Robinson is one of just a few voice actors who are probably better known by his physical appearances on shows like A Different World, Living Single, The Game, Sister, Sister, and others. But this throwback cutie has boo coup experience voicing characters in video games, film, and TV. I was most surprised to learn that Robinson has provided the voice for characters in Fallout 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, Infinite Crisis, Skylanders, and more. On the small screen, Robinson has “appeared” in Curious George as Mr. Berg, Black Lightning in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, James Rhodes’ War Machine in The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Falcon in the Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble. Back in the day, Bumper co-starred with fellow Black voice actor Phil LaMarr in the Static Shock series as D-Struct/Derek Barnett and Futurama as Dwight Conrad.
