VNJ is one of the few platforms in South Africa where voguers, dancers, artists and creatives from the queer community can express themselves freely.

Vogue, a dance form originating from the ballroom scene in New York City, is known for its fluid and exaggerated movements, combining elements of runway, contemporary dance, and performance art. In South Africa, vogue has gained popularity as a form of self-expression and creative outlet, attracting a diverse community of individuals who are drawn to its empowering and liberating nature.

The atmosphere is electric, buzzing with high energy that creates and inclusive environment.

In addition to being a celebration of movement and self-expression, VNJ also serves as a platform for social and cultural activism. Many of the participants use the event to raise awareness about important issues, such as LGBTQ rights, HIV/AIDS education, and gender equality. Through their performances, they seek to empower and inspire others to take a stand for what they believe in.

Another unique aspect of VNJ is its commitment to showcasing local talent and providing a platform for emerging artists. The event regularly features new and up-and-coming voguers, models, and dancers who are given the opportunity to showcase their skills and connect with the local community. This has helped to foster a supportive and inclusive ecosystem for artistic growth and development in South Africa.
