Anime and Basketball Collide in New Collection From Black Owned Streetwear Brand Hypland and National Basketball Association

February 19, 2023

It has been a busy two weekends for Los Angeles-based anime streetwear brand Hypland. On Super Bowl Sunday, Rapper Saweetie was seen rocking a custom Hypland’s X Hello Kitty Varsity Jacket. And now the brand has announced a special 8-team collaboration with the National Basketball Association during All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Owned by Jordan Bentley, Hypland has become a standout in the anime streetwear scene having collaborated with brands like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Hello Kitty. The inspiration for this collection came from his love of anime and basketball, which Bentley blended together for this special launch. The full collection will be featured at a pop-up at the NBA crossover this weekend and will go on sale on Monday, February 20th, 2023 at 9 AM PST online at www.hypland.com

Representing 8 teams (The Bulls, Celtics, Lakers, Suns, Raptors, Warriors, Wizards, and Nets) the collection will consist of graphic tee shirts, sweatshirts, varsity jackets and tapestry blankets ranging from $40 to $400. Additionally, the brand will be releasing a manga featuring each team’s mascot-themed hero as they fight to save the game of basketball. The Manga comes free with every purchase.

You can check out the entire collection at HYPLAND X NBA
