The London Short Film Festival has announced the 2022 edition taking place from the 14th – 23rd of January. The ten day film fest, held in London, will be screening over 500 films from UK based and International film makers. This year’s festival slogan, ‘What Golden Joys Do We Need Now’, coined by International Programmer Qila Gill, reflects power of collective creativity and working, represented in a festival programming ethos that brings together film collectives, clubs and curators from across London’s vibrant film scene and beyond. Filmmaker John Ogunmuyiwa has created this year’s incredible festival trailer, which reflects the diversity and range of talent featured within LSFF and our accessible, open ethos.

The collaboration with T A P E Collective brings audiences a fantastic lineup of programmes and special events focused on uplifting under-represented voices and celebrating the joys of collaboration and film collectives from across London. Highlights include, T A P E Collective Presents Black Country: Black Regionality on Film , T A P E Collective Presents Nolly Nights and T A P E Collective Presents Good Vibes Only, to mention but three. I’m excited about the screening of Zeinabu Irene Davis’ iconic 1991 film A Powerful Thang, curated by Grace Barber-Plentie and host the UK Blak Symposium event, exploring the history Black British music with a panel and iconic BBC documentaries Bad Meaning Good and Dread Beat and Blood.
