von phoenix brings back the essence of punk with his latest playlist for afropunk atlanta

Another week where we have an incredible creative curate a playlist for #AFROPUNKATL2021. This week we have the lead guitarist for Howling Star who is also the Head Coordinator at PUNK BLACK, Von Phoenix take over the task of curating the playlist. Von’s playlist only features Lesibu Grand, Hollow Sinatra and Rico Nasty. With songs from the three performing acts, Von manages to bring back the essence of punk with this playlist.

Von commented saying, “What inspires me the most is the growth of the presence of People of Color in the underground scenes, and our movement to the forefront this year. I’ve been in a band for 10 years, and have been running PUNK BLACK for 6 years. Both have been wild journeys, and I’m more than excited to see what new heights we achieve in the upcoming years.”
