anahata returns with a vengeance on new single “rust”
It’s been a minute since we last heard from ANAHATA, NYC’s premiere purveyors of loud. The band’s undergone a number of changes over the past year, but if the new single is any indication, their fire has only intensified. With a stripped down concept that gives the band a chance to showcase their live intensity, the video centers on a cryptic confrontation with a sole audience member, a “mysterious figure in a bear suit.” Scored to one of the band’s most dynamic cuts to date, their trademarked duality of hyper-melodicism juxtaposed against hyper-aggression is on full display. It’s the set-up for a story line desperate for a sequel. The band tells us “‘Rust’ is about being betrayed and standing up for yourself.”
