In the U.S., nearly 11% of households face food insecurity. For Black families, that figure swells to over 19%. And in the wake of COVID-19, millions more are in need than ever before.

OATES SONG FEST 7908, the live-streaming concert event founded by John and Aimee Oates, will be presented free of charge on March 20, 2021 across various internet platforms. During the event, viewers will have the opportunity to donate to FeedingAmerica.org and their efforts to support food banks across the country.

Co-hosted by John Oates and internet enigma Saxsquatch, the lineup of legends taking the stage will include percussion goddess Sheila E., Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Sammy Hagar (formerly of Van Halen), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and many more.

We’re beyond stoked for a set by Malina Moye, the singer/songwriter and guitar-shredder who is using her voice to open doors for other Black girls making waves in the rock world.

“When John called and told me about the event, I immediately said, ‘yes.’” No one should go without food”, said Moye.  “He has put together an incredible roster of artists and friends and I’m so happy he included me! I can’t wait to play.”

It’s going to be a night of amazing music for an extremely relevant cause. Your dollars will go directly toward programs that rescue food which would be otherwise wasted, increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables in food deserts, and fund research that interrogates the long term, intersectional effects of hunger.  Be sure to tune in March 20th via NugsTV
