marti indulges her desire on “lust”

Judging by the shenanigans happening on Tory Lanez’s IG Live and the widespread embrace of “Demon Time” in the wee hours of the night on Twitter, people are big horny during this quarantine. Apropos of those feelings of desire is D.C.-bred alternative soul singer Marti’s latest, “Lust”.

The song is a sweetly seductive description of a sexual situationship that blooms at night only to disappear during the day. This ain’t love, as the title implies it’s unbridled, primal, and liberating lust:  “I need you so bad I can’t sleep, I always see you in my dreams/ come fulfill my fantasy” Marti coos, inviting her lover to a discreet and dirty romp.

The dating scene is in shambles during the time of Covid-19 but that doesn’t mean we can’t fantasize and Marti’s “Lust” is a great aural aid to the imagination.
