duendita gives an aural hug with “let me live”

If it’s possible to describe a song as “sun-drenched” then duendita’s latest, “Let Me Live” fits the bill. With its minimal guitar track — courtesy of strummer Luca — and duendita’s melodious voice, the song radiates warm, enveloping emotion. “Lovely, so lucky thank God, ’cause they made me your friend,”  she sings, managing to pull off the feat of communicating her love, nodding to her spirituality, and subtly subverting the assumption that God must be a “he” with the pronoun “they” — all in one elegant line. Now that’s what I call a pen.
