In what one YouTube commenter has dubbed “the modern day ‘turn your lights down low‘[sic],” crooner Skip Marley links up with H.E.R. for the reggae-tinged duet, “Slown Down.”

In the Lacey Duke-directed video, we see Skip Marley and Gabi Wilson’s love story play out on the streets of Harlem, on the subway, and at a bashment-style house party.

“We could have just one night/ Or we could have one whole life, if we play it cool,” Marley sings, letting his love interest know that there’s no need to rush because he wants to know her in more than just the biblical sense. In her verses, Gabi Wilson reciprocates his energy, confirming that he’s the kind of man that she has “been praying for.” The end result is a video and song that are both sweet and sultry. Lauryn Hill and Skip’s grandfather would be proud.
