tyler, the creator drops new songs to closeout 2019

In 2019 Tyler, The Creator has given us his best album, a legendary Funk Flex freestyle, and artful music videos. Now, to wrap up the year — and just in time for X-mas and Kwanzaa, — he’s dropped two new songs out of the blue.

“BEST INTEREST” and its accompanying visual filmed by Wyatt Navarro, are described as “a song that i never got to fully finish from IGOR sessions. didnt want it to sit on a hard drive. filmed with no music, with hopes that it would sync up, a success! [sic]” With its relationship-referencing lyrics and beat that features the same sample as NxWorries’ “Another Time,” this is an unpolished gem we’re glad Tyler unearthed for us.

The second track “GROUP B” is yet another reminder that even though Tyler’s evolved into a more sensitive singing and producing artist he’s still a spitter who can bar out with the best of them: “we stepping in puddles in/them new giannos/the team im assembling/you trembling/we in a circle huddling/fumble and/we coming in/tackling your empire/its robert crumbling/one nom?/shit is humbling. [sic]”
