sound check: kojey radical communicates through movement
London-based rapper Kojey Radical made his U.S. debut a few weeks ago at COLORS Live and paid a visit to the AFROPUNK offices in Brooklyn. As humble as he is confident, Kojey comes from a background in fashion, theater, and dance. He triangulates his experience and channels it into his impressive collection of videos such as “Water” and “97.” In his visuals, he showcases his ability to tell stories with his body, and represents Blackness in every shade. Fresh off the release of his new EP, Cashmere Tears, Kojey sat down with us to discuss the authenticity of New York, the problems within the problem of colorism, and communicating through dance.
