it’s time to get to know alex mali

Brooklyn-born, Jamaican-Trini, green-haired Alex Mali is an exciting, up’n’coming singer-songwriter who will certainly dominate the industry when the general public finally catches up to her. Mali releases what sounds like hit after hit, with beautiful visuals to boot. I was first introduced to her a couple of years ago, on the summertime-in-New-York hit, “Hoity Toity” feat. Melo-X; but her new song and video, “Obviously” has arrived at a fantastic time, just we’re cold and all up in our feelings. 

As an artist, Alex is multi-talented and independent, with impeccable taste and an impressive ability to create a complete synergetic story, using vocals, song and visuals that complement each other. What draws new listeners to Mali is her apparent confidence and sense of self. With the resurgence of R&B we’ve seen in recent years, it can be hard to stand out; but Mali manages to do so by being true to herself. Check out the video and share share share!
