THE ADRENALINE RUSH OF ANAHATA’S ‘BREATHE / BLEED’
By Nathan Leigh

Anyone who caught their performance at this year’s Battle of the Bands or AFROPUNK Fest in Brooklyn already knows that Anahata is one of the most exciting new voices in post-hardcore. The Queens-based band’s sound is one of extremes: punishing riffs and jagged-edged drums juxtaposed against sudden bursts of harmony and outsized hooks. Their latest music video for “Breathe / Bleed” off Abhorrence is a disorienting stream of color and images, as intense and hypnotic as the music. Like most things from Anahata, it’s a total rush.
