prince’s ‘1999’ remastered and re-released with dozens of unheard tracks

Set to drop this fall is Prince’s expansive 1999 Deluxe Edition box set which will include 35 previously unreleased tracks and video footage. Originally released in 1982 to great mainstream success, the iconic album featured classic pops like “1999,” “Little Red Corvette,” and “Delirious.” Remastered by Bernie Grundman, the box set will be sold as either a 2-CD/4-LP set or the super deluxe 5-CD and DVD/10-LP and DCD edition (each will include downloads and streaming). The Super Deluxe edition will contain all the material Prince recorded between November 1981 and January 1983. There is also a live album that features the Purple One’s late-night November 30th, 1982 concert in Detroit, and a second set a month later at the Houston Summit.

This massive special release also included a book which features Prince’s handwritten lyrics for “Little Red Corvette”, among others, in addition to rare photos by Allen Beaulieu and more. So, holy shit.
