Horror fans, go get your life! Tony Todd is BACK for the upcoming remake of the cult classic Candyman! Originally, the Jordan Peele-produced project hadn’t bothered to reach out to Todd, who made it claro that he was having some “mixed feelings” about the film, particularly because nobody had consulted him on the creation of his iconic role.

“I want to be a part of the project one way or the other,” says Todd. “Of course, I’d want to be a part of it. I helped create this character. I helped bring him to life so I’m sure if Boris Karloff was asked the same thing, he would say exactly what I say. I know the character inside and out.”

And, now, he’s getting what he wants! It’s unclear in what capacity Todd will appear in the movie, set to drop next year. But he will join Aquaman actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will reimagine Todd’s legendary role and If Beale Street Could Talk actress, Teyonah Parris, in the remake which is being directed by Nia DaCosta with a screenplay co-written by Peele and Win Rosenfeld.

I’m scared already, basically.
