Apparently, …there’s a comic book series called Django/Zorro and that ish is coming to a big screen near you, courtesy of Quentin Tarantino and Jerrod Carmichael.

Based on Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and written by him as well, the story focuses on the slave owner slayer and the legendary literary swordsman, Zorro. Several years after the events of Tarantino’s 2012 film, Django is traveling the roads of the American Southwest when he encounters an aged but sophisticated Diego de La Vega. Captivated by this unusual, out-of-place figure who takes no issue with Django’s skin color, he hires Diego as a bodyguard. Soon, they are drawn into a fight to free the local indigenous people from brutal servitude. Learning that slavery isn’t exclusive for Black people, Django is forced to act…and even wear the mask of Zorro.

Details surrounding the project are confusing and scant, but what is known is that Carmichael has been tapped to write the script, with or without Tarantino. It’s unclear whether or not Tarantino will direct the future movie, but he is involved in some way, according to Collider.
