fab 5 freddy explores cannabis culture in new doc
Cannabis, pot, green, herb — whatever you wanna call it, marijuana has been an integral part of American culture and popular society since our founding, despite the way stigmas and the war on drugs continue to persist in society at large. For many Americans, smoking weed is a way of life. And Netflix’s new documentary Grass is Greener by Fab 5 Freddy, in his directorial debut, explores the complicated dynamics between prohibition and ubiquity. Set to premiere on 4/20 (tee-hee), Grass is Greener is narrated by Freddy, with appearances by legendary smokers like Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Sen Dog, DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Chuck D, Damian Marley, Killer Mike and hella others.
