loyle carner & jorja smith gift us with a vulnerable anthem

March 4, 2019

When Loyle Carner drops new music, you stop what you’re doing and listen. Vulnerable as always, his new song “Loose Ends,” with friend Jorja Smith is a testament to the power of emotional truth.

A longtime advocate for the world to celebrate emotions as a part of masculinity, Carner sets a stellar example in this tune. In an ode to his late father and a public call to the people he loves the most, he repeats:

I got a lot of love,

A lot of loose ends

A lot of people that

I wish I knew then

Carner’s music is intimate and thoughtful enough to make the lonely feel comforted. He makes telling the truth look easy. As always in her collaborations, Jorja’s vocals lend the perfect support. Being quite the storyteller, Carner makes you feel like you’re inside his head.

I’ll avoid any more spoilers. Check out the very heartfelt Loose Ends for yourself and be sure to download to support!
