I have mixed feelings about MLK Day. While I respect King’s history of activism and service, I cringe every January when right wing politicians fall all over themselves posting MLK quotes, when their legislation undermines everything he stood for.

King’s legacy has been whitewashed to the point where we’ve forgotten that he was a radical, anti-capitalist enemy of the state. This MLK Day, let’s remember King as the radical badass he actually was.
