Sigh. So many teases. So much false hope. But just maybe the powers that be are finally, really, seriously progressing the possibility that Idris Elba will replace Daniel Craig in the James Bond movie franchise. Everyone’s bae, the Luther star would be a break from the homogenous mayo-Saxon portrayals of the literary figure, bringing the concept of Bond into the 21st century. Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli reportedly announced that the door is now open to a Black Bond, once they wrap up Craig’s next Danny Boyle-directed installment. Adding Director Antoine Fuqua, who seems to have some collaborative interest in the project, shared details of his conversation with Broccoli relaying that she said “it is time” for a non-white Bond. YEAH THINK?!
Make it happen, y’all!
