‘luke cage’ season 2 soundtrack will feature esperanza spalding, rakim, gary clark jr

If you thought you were excited about Luke Cage season 2 already, you’re gonna flip when you hear about it’s accompanying soundtrack. According to Billboard, season 2, which premieres June 22, will feature music by the likes of Ghostface Killah, Stephen Marley, Esperanza Spalding, AFROPUNK Paris performer Gary Clark Jr., Jadakiss, KRS-One, Rakim, Evans, Joi & D-Nice, and more.

“When you say, ‘We’re going to shoot you like no one else has shot you on a show,’ and you can show long tracking shots of Raphael Saadiq or you can show the intercut footage of Sharon Jones, they were like, ‘We have to do the show,’” says Luke Cage creator and showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker.
