Keeping way busy, Lupita Nyong’o is gearing upon for yet anything project, this time with star actress Viola Davis for TriStar’s “The Woman King’, a film based on true events by Maria Bello. The pair will play a mother/daughter duo in the Kingdom of Dahomey. Nanisca, played by Davis, is a general in an all-woman military unit known as the Dahomey Amazons while her daughter, Nawi played by Nyong’o, as they fight off white colonizers and threatening forces form changing their way of life.

“‘The Woman King’ has the potential to be a game changer for women of color everywhere,” said Julius Tennon of JuVee Production. “Viola and our team at JuVee are beyond excited to partner with Sony/TriStar to bring these fierce women to the big screen.”
