Welp, South Africa has a new president and he ain’t wasting no time at all making himself (and countless black South Africans) a little more comfortable with new plans to redistribute the country’s farming land. Addressing parliament and the nation, President Cyril Ramaphosa made it clear that his top priority as president is to heal the divisions and social injustices the nation has long endured. One of his first actions to begin that long process is to “the return of the land to the people from whom it was taken… to heal the divisions of the past.”

Yes, you read that right. Calling way back to the 1600s when white colonialist pillaged the land, ultimately stealing it from the indigenous people of whom it belonged. And President Ramaphosa is here to reclaim it.

“The expropriation of land without compensation is envisaged as one of the measures that we will use to accelerate redistribution of land to black South Africans.”

BLOOP!

Following in the footsteps of Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe, the stolen land will be returned to the indigenous black South Africans to initiate the process of social rehabilitation.
