solange to magazine: ‘don’t touch my hair’, after they partly erase her hair on cover
How many times does she have to say it?
On Thursday, Solange clapped back at Evening Standard Magazine, which did a cover story on the singer using an image of her with large spiral earrings and gold pleated braids. The issue was that the original image, which Solange posted along with her clap-back, had a far more elaborate hairstyle featuring a magnificent crown, and Ms. Knowles had a clear message that is just as relevant as when she dropped the song of the same name on her acclaimed album A Seat At The Table: “Don’t Touch My Hair.”

Ironically, the article itself bears the title: “Solange: ‘I Miss Out On Chances By Wanting Control Over My Body’”, and centers on the singer claiming bodily autonomy.
As the Huffington Post reports, the original crown represented the Orion constellation, which holds special meaning to the singer (her latest performance series was titled Orion’s Rise, and it is even tattooed on her inner right arm).
One of the writers of the piece, Angelica Bastien, publicly disowned the piece later on Twitter:
I am publicly disowning the Solange piece London Evening Standard published today. The entire piece was a fiasco despite my efforts.
