raphael saadiq will join metallica & more for bay area wildfire relief concert
With the passing of a 17-year-old girl yesterday, the death toll from the deadliest rash of wildfires in California history has risen to 43. An estimated 245,000 acres were scorched and 100,000 residents were forced to flee there homes since the fires began on October 8th.
The area is in need of a lot of help, and Oakland-raised Raphael Saadiq is joining forces with Metallica, Dead & Co and more to do something about it at Band Together, a benefit concert for North Bay Wildfire Relief on November 9th. The performance will follow a series of high-profile projects the Tony! Toni! Toné founding member has been a part of this past year, including an AFROPUNK Brooklyn performance and composing for HBO’s Insecure.
Saadiq notes, “Happy to the part of the sublime roster of hardened musical talent; united to benefit those who lost so much in the wildfires. It’s a privilege to help heal through the power of music. I am bringing all my soul. Hope to see everyone there.”
Tickets for the concert are available here!
