Akou Diabakhate is an artist and model who recently teamed with photographer Stanley DeSarmes to reproduce the world’s most legendary Black models in some of their most iconic poses. Featuring Grace Jones, Beverly Johnson, Alek Wek, Iman, Tyra Banks, and Naomi Campbell, the photo series reinvigorates their greatest classics, reminding the world of the many doors they had to break down, and what beauty could come from breaking down even more.
