actress tessa thompson confirms bisexuality of her ‘thor’ valkyrie character

Actress Tessa Thompson opened up about her ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ character, Valkyrie’s sexuality on Twitter yesterday after a fan attempted to peg the character as the “typical sexless Marvel tomboy” Rude.

Thompson was having none of that though and reminded fans that Valkyrie’s existence is based neither on her sexuality, her gender presentation, or the male gaze. After another fan pointed out the fact that Valkyrie is bisexual in the comics series, Thompson confirmed that that aspect of the character’s identity wasn’t lost in her adaptation of the part:
