The Harry Potter universe is a gift that just keeps giving. So what if the Potter saga of the J.K. Rowling’s universe semi-ended years ago? Why does it matter that I’m 27 and still wear (and buy) Slytherin House gear?!It doesn’t! And since I’m not the only one who, apparently, can’t let go of it, fans like Eliyannah Amirah Yisrael continue to use series to tell more stories.

Before Olivier-winning British actress Noma Dumezweni landed the role of Hermione Granger in the London stage adaptation of Rowlings “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, Black Hermione had long since been a thing in the fanfiction and cosplay worlds.

Now, fans of the beloved character (played by Ashley Romans) will have the chance to watch an entire fan-made web series feature the racebent* portrayal of the brilliant witch in Hermione Granger and
the Quarter Life Crisis
(HGQLC)
. Created by Yisrael, the new series follows Hermione after she leaves boyfriend Ron (lol) and heads to Los Angeles where she reunites with her former Hogwarts roommate Parvati Patil (Sinead Persaud). Naturally, Draco Malfoy (Nicholas D. Johnson) resurfaces as well (duh, shipping already).

The show is written by Jessica Jenks and L. Olive Hernandez and produced by Megan Grogan.

(*J.K. Rowling has pointed out that the Harry Potter canon description of Hermione Granger doesn’t suggest that she was ever white in the first place:
