with the senate healthcare bill in limbo, call your senator and tell them you #standwithplannedparenthood

June 28, 2017

Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the tortoise-like one, announced the delay of a vote on his super-secret tax break for the rich bill, aka the Better Care Reconciliation Act. But before we let out a sigh of relief knowing that the bill won’t come to a vote until after the July 4th recess, there’s still so much at stake. Especially for women. While no government funding goes towards a single abortion procedure performed at any Planned Parenthood, the GOP’s new bill(s) continues to set its sights on eliminating Planned Parenthood altogether. The Senate’s bill, in current form, would defund Planned Parenthood for a full year by blocking Medicaid reimbursements to the org. Doing so would slash precious funding used for preventative care for millions of women.

During the Senate’s recess, it’s going to be crucial that we stay vigilant about reaching out to our Senators and voice concerns over their proposed bill. Contact your Senator and tell them you #StandWithPP.
