12-year-old son of metallica’s bassist is korn’s new bassist
The 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo joins KORN on the South America leg of their tour and becomes a rock god before he even hits high school. Tye Trujillo has been a member of a band called the Helmets since the age of eight, and they’ve performed at festivals like BottleRock, Lollapalooza Chile, and Lollapalooza’s Kidsapalooza stage. The younger Trujillo replaces Korn’s longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu who pulled out of the leg due to “unforeseen circumstances,” and will return for the North America portion of the tour. “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye,” the band wrote on Facebook.
Korn’s South America tour kicks off April 17th in Bogota, Colombia and will end April 27th in Santiago, Chile.
