black on campus: tv show tackles racism at a pwi

March 7, 2017

‘Switched At Birth’, a freeform TV show that follows two white teens who were, you know, switched at birth, alternated POVs and followed three black students at the fictitious University of Missouri – Kansas City, who were protesting following a racially charged campus prank. The protest was the response to the university’s failure to expel the students who conducted the prank, which involved dumping cotton balls on the front lawn of the black student union. The three black students featured in this episode each take action in their own ways, prompting a campus-wide examination of racism.
