video premiere: retro soul trio the womack sisters conjure nostalgia & no nonsense lovin’ in new video for “darling”
Nostalgia is one of the most powerful emotions on planet Earth (and I suspect the rest of the universe would agree). And for me, there’s little more that brings back memories of summer and smiles than the sounds of the Motown era. The smooth sailing and high flying soul that was conjured by the likes of Barry Gordy, but even moreso by acts like Womack & Womack, created a vibration that still shakes me to my core. So to hear their daughters as The Womack Sisters brings me unadulterated joy. The trio BG, Zeimani and Kucha, are endeavoring to carry on the legacy they inherited with style, grace, and plenty of soul. Currently making their home in Los Angeles, the girls have been busy writing and recording, garnering writing credits on tracks with B.O.B, The Game and Mya to name a few, while they work on their debut album. The video for their single “Darling” is a perfect example of the modern love song, drawing clear inspiration from the era of their parents’ peak, with nostalgia exuded in their hair, costuming, and choreography. Take a trip back to the 60s in “Darling” by The Womack Sisters and get to know them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
