new music: british r&b singer ray blk tells her lover to cool it in groovy, electronica-infused single “chill out” featuring sg lewis

Ever needed someone to take a step back and chill? Ray BLK is right there with you, telling a potential love interest to cool off after he makes something a bigger deal than necessary. When you’re a woman in a heavily male-dominated profession, it’s not foreign for you to feel pressured to talk about things in the same way that “all women” talk about them, but when asked about how she approached writing this song, Ray BLK said, ‘I feel like women are told how to live and act based on societal pressures which stems from male privilege and this song challenges that.’ The British breakout is coming off a particularly strong single featuring grime powerhouse Stormzy and entitled, “My Hood” and a nomination from the UK’s MOBO awards.
