video premiere: uk-based soul singer and actor shaun escoffery shares intoxicating acoustic performance of single ‘gave me love’

August 3, 2016

Lovely video premiere today from British soul singer and actor Shaun Escoffery and an acoustic performance of his single ‘Gave Me Love’. Taken from his much anticipated forthcoming album ‘Evergreen’, ‘Gave Me Love’ is a deeply emotional lamentation about wanting love, but not being ready to accept love. “The inspiration for ‘Gave Me Love’ came from the Smokey Robinson soulful Sixties falsetto sound. But what I think makes it interesting is the combination of the soulful melody and the dub bassline, which I think gives it an interesting twist,” Escoffery tells AFROPUNK.

Watch ‘Gave Me Love’, down below, and be on the lookout for ‘Evergreen’, out Sept. 2.
