video premiere: brussels-based electro-neo soul singer/songwriter may leaves love to die in striking new visual ‘free’

August 15, 2016

Ending relationships are tough. Not only has the love died, but, metaphorically, so does the person you leave behind. In their newest music video, ‘Free’, electro-neo soul singer/songwriter MAY portrays this darkness through this Mo Gaff and Jon Ohm-directed visual set to darkly ambient musical storytelling. “It is about ending a relationship, about setting one free, which here, is embodied by Death. ‘When I wrote ‘Free’ I did not have a concept. It just came from deep inside. Until the song was finished I did not know that I was ending a relationship,” MAY tells AFROPUNK.
