feature: photographer sierra nallo showcases the beauties of color gracing toronto’s fashion scene

August 9, 2016

Many are not aware of the ever-growing fashion scene that is Toronto, yet thanks to photographers such as Canada’s own Sierra Nallo, the true essence of the scene is illuminated and exposed for all to see. Most importantly, is the representational side of her images; necessary for the fashion world in general- her photographs capture the range of color that graces the runway. Focusing on the models of color and their contribution to the collections, Nallo is able to solidify and translate their rightful and respected place in the industry. Beautiful portraits ranging from candid to posed, bare, to completely runway ready- the moments snapped are a beautiful bow to those that are least presented. Being one of the only black female photographers in her medium, Nallo not only creates opportunities and representative platforms for models of color, but for those in her position as well. A crucial example of pure beauty, check out Sierra Nallo’s photographs below.
