video premiere: veteran james brown band singer martha high is the ‘hardest working woman’ in brand new visual

July 21, 2016

Check out the playful video for soul-singer Martha High’s brand new single ‘Hardest Working Woman’—a beautiful, retro-inspired soul track that harkens back to High’s roots as a backing vocalist. Honestly, a legend in her own right, High has provided supporting vocals for some of the most electric performers of all times, including Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Prince, The Police, Michael Jackson and many, many more. High was also a singer in James Brown’s band for more than 30 years. “It’s easy to look at successful people and explain their achievements as the product of “luck being in the right place at the right time or being born with extraordinary talent”. But there are many people who get lucky in one or both of those ways that don’t go anywhere. What distinguishes the merely talented from the truly great is drive the willingness to get in earlier, stay later, work hard and do more than everyone around them.”

‘Hardest Working Woman’ appears on High’s new album‘Singing For The Good Times’. Watch it down below!
