video premiere: classically trained violinist ezinma forges eclectic niche blending hip-hop and classical in “elevate me”

July 1, 2016

We’ve had our eyes (and ears) on violinist, Ezinma, for a few months now, so it’s awesome that we get to premiere her newest video “Elevate Me” for you guys today. Switching gears from her classically trained background, Ezinma is using her mesmerizing talent to forge an eclectic niche all her own—trap strings. Accompanied by a vicious hip-hop beat, Ezinma and her violin tie together the heart and soul of both genres, bridging the gap between two seemingly unrelated worlds, pretension-free. “”Elevate Me” is a feel-good summer track. Produced by Velocity Music, this jam fuses virtuosic violin lines with hip-hop beats. The video was shot in Harlem and is about using music to bring people together and lift each other up.” Ezinma tells AFROPUNK.
