afropunk premiere: london-based singer-songwriter/producer emaé debuts soaring acoustic-soul ep ‘imperfect words’

June 15, 2016

Emaé is a Scottish-born an up-and-coming folk singer-songwriter/producer who is now based in London. Today we’re premiering her newest EP ‘Imperfect Words’, written, arranged, and produced by the artist herself. A gorgeous collections of uplifting love songs and songs about overcoming and rising above crummy circumstances and trudging on, told over a soaring acoustic-folk soundscape. “This is my first multi-track project. It’s a sort of homage to how my acoustic side has opened so many doors and also allowed me to express myself in a very honest, stripped back and vulnerable way. As I grow as an artist and more importantly as a person, my audience will see changes in the way I offer my music. I really hope they enjoy ‘Imperfect Words’. I’ve lived these songs and now I’m giving away,” Emaé tells AFROPUNK. Listen to ‘Imperfect Words’ below.
