feature: check out howard grad student and visual artist mikey miyagi’s depictions of black love

April 5, 2016

Mikey Miyagi is a D.C.-based illustrator and visual artist. The Howard University grad student’s work focuses on black women, be it through depictions of African heritage to the contemporary black woman, Miyagi aims to create representations and expressions of their identity with his work. Many of drawings take on this perspective, too, and show close intimate relationships between black women and men.
