feature: check out florianópolis-based illustrator will costa’s dreamy pop art portraits

April 19, 2016

Will Costa’s illustrations are a dream. Things I never knew I needed. His speciality is in pop art portraits that borrow from art history and the cultural aesthetics of the 20th century as a whole. Aside from his slick personal style of inordinately crisp lines and edges, Costa’s portraits are done in a photo realistic style. Look at those freakin’ hairs! The portraits are embedded in their very own setting/backdrop which serve as visual and thematic extensions of the artists themselves. Check out some of our favorites down below and be sure to follow and ‘like’ Costa on Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook.
