feature: denver-based visual artist i am detour paints lively abstract portraits of legendary creatives

March 28, 2016

I am Detour is the creative brand of Thomas Evans, a multi-talented artist based in Denver. Evans’ main artistic focuses are currently photography and painting. As a painter, he mainly does murals and portraits (and usually a combination of the two) of legendary figures of the arts and sciences. His abstract portraits are characterized by his, seemingly, colorblind or random use of colors that come together in an unambiguous way that really lends itself to bringing the subject to life with that extra layer of personality.
