feature: queer south african artists dope saint jude and angel-ho join the cape town electronic music festival line-up

February 1, 2016

Cape Town-based queer feminist rapper Dope Saint Jude and trans activist rapper/producer Angel-Ho join The Cape Town Electronic Music Festival line-up (their festival debut) set to take place this weekend. Their addition marks a push towards more mainstream queer and trans activism inclusion in South Africa. “This is a huge step to further cementing the ethos of our festival” says festival director Jake Lipman “continuing to be progressive and confident in taking risks with local artists and giving them the credit they’re due; with the ultimate goal of changing the mindset of our city and country. This booking at CTEMF has both local and international significance.”
