afropunk premiere: uk lyricist banditsu and canadian producer ekho release second trap and grime collaboration

“Katana” is the second release from “Swimming With Sharks”—a joint project from UK artist Banditsu and Canada-based producer Ekho. The pair have never met in person, but they use SoundCloud (their meeting place) as their primary means of collaboration. For tracks like “Katana” and their first release, “Loud, “Ekho sends the instrumentals to Banditsu, who writes and records the lyrics before sending them back to Ekho for mixing and mastering.

Banditsu describes the trap and grime single as, “a self proclaimed affirmation that [I’m] coming for bigger and better things within the music world.”
